Los Angeles Dodgers Information
Los Angeles , California- The Los Angeles Dodgers have given their franchise a major facelift, upgrading the roster and making themselves serious contenders for the NL West and National League Championships.
In making six significant acquisitions the Los Angeles Dodgers have gone from one of the weaker hitting lineups in baseball to a potential offensive juggernaut with infielder Nomar Garciaparra, 3B Bill Mueller, C Sandy Alomar Jr., OF Kenny Lofton, and speedster SS Rafael Furcal giving the batting order teeth, also P Brett Tomko will give the pitching rotation flexibility and stability. New Los Angeles Dodgers manager Grady Little will have many options at his disposal with all the new faces in addition to holdovers OF J.D. Drew, and All-Stars 2B Jeff Kent and Closer Eric Gagne.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will be one of the favorites to win the wide open National League West crown, that was won last year by the San Diego Padres with a 82-80 record.
Expectations should be high for the Los Angeles Dodgers as they are only one season removed from a 93-win campaign that saw them qualify for the NL playoffs. with alot of their problems last season stemming from injuries to their best and most important players as Eric Gagne who was the defending NL Cy Young award winner missed time and his replacements were unable to pick up the slack as the Los Angeles Dodgers blew numerous late inning leads, but if the Los Angeles Dodgers can keep their core players healthy and the newcomers live up to expectations, a return trip to the postseason is a likely destination for the Los Angeles Dodgers
