In addition to the main organ of the Wilshire theatre, one of several cobbled up for Fox by Louis Maas and pipe maker Archie Marsh, the lobby for a time sported an Estey Minuette, a 2/3 portable limb worked into what seemed like a big impressive piano case. The Wilshire theatre was renovated in 1981; the house is now a stage venue.
On November 1953, Marilyn Monroe was in the middle of the luminary who went to the opening of How To Marry A Millionaire, also starring Lauren Bacall. That movie was merely the next to be filmed in Cinemascope. On December 25th of that year, Walt Disney showed Grand Canyonscope, the first Donald Duck drawing in Cinemascope, showing with the studio's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. On November 15, 1960, a particular presentation of G.I. Blues, starring Elvis Presley, took place; among the attendees were Cesar Romero and Ronald Regan as well. In the early 1970s, the Wilshire theatre hosted the elite engagement of the film, Woodstock, with an admittance price of $3.50, which was then considered shocking.
